Oh, my gods...I think I have it all now. This wrote itself on me this morning. The inspiration largely comes from Josh Groban's hit single, "You Raise Me Up" (for the chorus melody especially), so imagine a choir behind it.

After an interview that went amazingly well, the owner of a printing operation in Kennesaw, GA, about 30 mins. north of Atlanta proper (back in that same neighborhood, up I-75 northwest again...what is it about print shops and that area?) has invited me to spend a day (and hopefully more) working with him to see if I can mesh with their operation and fill a production vacancy. If it works out, I will have a salaried job (as opposed to the hourly wage most print shops seem to like paying their prepress folks) with at least $35K plus bennies a year. Pray, cross fingers or other extremities, and send other sorts of good thoughts my way if you would.

And please, God in heaven, do NOT let me screw this one up.

Courtesy of StumbleUpon.com, I just found out that someone is attempting to sell his childhood imaginary friend on eBay. No lie; the page is right here. The only thing more astonishing than what some people have the chutzpah to try and sell is what some people will actually buy.

Happy birthday to the originator and king of "insult" comedy, Don Rickles. "Mr. Warmth" turns 81 today; many happy returns of the day, you old hockey puck! (Prime example: in the 1960s he was doing a wee-hours show in Vegas when the late Frank Sinatra walked in, after performing his own show nearby. Don pointed him out and went, "Hey, Frank, make yourself at home; hit somebody!" The Chairman of the Board laughed as hard as anyone else there.)

Also, Stephen Furst (Babylon 5's Vir Cotto, as well as a veteran of St. Elsewhere and many other shows) is 53 today.

And another Bab5 alum, Melissa Gilbert (Mrs. Sheridan onscreen and Mrs. Boxleitner in real life as well) is 43. She was also president of the Screen Actors Guild, 2001-05. She and Bruce are still together 12 years on, which if you know show-biz marriages, is impressive. Kudos to the (still) happy couple; looks like little "Laura Ingalls" turned out real nice.

Finally, Toni Tennille, The Captain's better half, is...67?! Man, do I feel old now... But they're still together too. Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Dragon on an even longer successful partnership in both love and art.
