  1. Finally finding out that sick bastard Sylar's first name. (Gabriel? How inappropriately angelic...and I suspect that is no accident.) And damn the writers for making me feel even a teensy bit sorry for him. Even Hitler had a mother...which brings me to:

  2. Seeing Ellen Greene working again, even if she did have to be made up to look old as Sylar's mom. (You do remember her as the babe-a-licious Audrey in both the stage and film versions of the Little Shop of Horrors musical, right? Though you wouldn't have known it to see her last night.) I can't believe it's a coincidence that this ep aired the week before Mother's Day. And finally:

  3. Seeing Hiro refuse to let himself turn into a cold-blooded killer like Sylar or his future self: "Future Hiro killed so much, he forgot it should be hard." Right on, brother. Now he better pray he can find someone with powers to magic that katana of his back into one piece in time...unless he's prepared to time-shift back and grab it from his earlier self before it breaks.
Looks like the season's last two eps will both be aired back-to-back next Monday night. The Songbird and I are so freaking there.

We've actually known Sylar's name for quite some time. When we first "meet" him in flashbacks with Souresh's father, we learn his name and his profession.

Good god, this series rocks. I can't WAIT for next week.

Sorry about that - A simple check of Wikipedia should have told me all of this. Apparently Sylar isn't even his real last name.

No worries. And yes, he's a watchmaker. He got his TK abilities from the very first meta he encounered -- it's not yet been explained how precisely he steals powers, and if this is in fact a meta-ability itself (similar to but very different in application to Peter's absorption power).

One of the things I love about this show is how intricatly its threads are woven together. it looks jumbled and chaotic, but then you step back and see the tapestry.
