Weird Al's in a computer game!
May. 5th, 2007 07:19 pmTo loyal longtime citizens of the Land of Dementia, Alfred Matthew Yankovic should need absolutely no introduction; certainly regular readers of this journal will know that the man better known as "Weird Al" Yankovic has been the king of funny music for over three decades (and a tremendous creative influence on Your Humble Correspondent), with parodies of popular songs as well as equally funny originals on some 12 studio albums, five cheesy compilations and various other assorted projects. He has also starred in big-studio feature films (UHF), music videos (my personal fave is "White and Nerdy," one of his most recent) and even a short-lived Saturday morning kids' TV show (now out on DVD).
Now the Weird One takes another step on his road to dethroning Howard Stern (the radio guy, not the widowed Mr. Anna Nicole Smith) as "King of All Media" with his latest starring role...in a computer game! Go to VirusAlert3D.com for the full story and the free demo download. (And it's bi-platform! Yay!) The game is based on his original song "Virus Alert" and the animated music video thereof, both to be had on his latest enhanced CD, Straight Outta Lynwood, released last year. And if by some remote chance you don't know what the fugg I'm talking about, get thee directly to www.weirdal.com at once.
