wcg (AKA the Marine at the End of the Bar from alt.callahans) has posted a couple of links to stories about the Bush Regime's ongoing cooperative effort with Big Oil to cast asparagus on the science of global warming. Apropos of that, I thought I should also post this point/counterpoint that appeared in our local paper today on the subject.
First, the "skeptic" who objected to a Weather Channel meteorologist suggesting that any member of the American Meterological Society who questions that global warming is real should have their membership pulled:
Greg Strange (what a delightful surname for this guy!)
And then, a rebuttal from the lady in question, showing that when attacking someone else's public statements, context really does matter:

That this is still even being debated at this point is a scandal to the jaybirds, and evidence that, asfilkertom has pointed out, these evil, greedy fucks don't even care what they're breathing so long as they make more money...or avoid having to spend any to clean up their own planet-sized messes.
