thatcrazycajun...and somehow, I was unable to get online the whole damn five days we were gone. Really damn whacked now as Your Humble Correspondent was, as usual, required to do ALL of the driving between Atlanta and Lafayette, with Hattiesburg and an unexpected scenic tour of the back roads south of Lafayette in between. Will post more tomorrow; but for now, suffice to say my Songbird and I got through it without killing each other.
And goddamn it to frigging hell, why did we have to lose both James Brown AND Jerry Ford in the same frigging week?! I mourn both of them, for their gifts and their efforts. JB may not always have behaved himself as he should have, but no one can fault his talent or his work ethic. And the old Michigander who led our nation out of both Watergate and Vietnam deserves remembering with honor as among the last of the "Rockefeller Republicans" (Nelson was his VP, you may recall). Godspeed to you both into heaven, gentlemen, and thank you.
