With much gratitude to
filkferengi for the link: Reuters reports here on a serious upswing in demand for comedy of all sorts, from stand-up to printed satire, in my beloved home city of New Orleans in the year-plus-and-counting since Hurricane Katrina turned it upside down and inside out...even before the arrival of Comic Relief 2006 in the city the week before last. (They are still taking donations for the Katrina fund, by the by.)
A new satirical publication, the New Orleans Levee (motto: "We Don't Hold Anything Back"), is mentioned in the story, but curiously, no Web link is included. I found it here. One link that is included will take you to nolafugees.com, another site established to help the denizens of the convalescent Crescent City laugh at it all. (Warning: some of the layout on the page may not play nice with your Firefox browser.)
