Having just read in our local paper that the Broadway hit Monty Python's Spamalot! is finally heading to Atlanta (minus stars Tim Curry and David Hyde Pierce, alas; it is only the touring company, after all*), Your Humble Correspondent leaps to remind
bedlamhouse that he promised to organize a local filkers' outing to see it should it arrive here. Well, Bill, the Fabulous Fox Theater is holding a special "on-sale event" this Saturday morning, with breakfast noshery and live entertainment laid on, to encourage early-bird fans to get their tickets before they "officially" go on sale at noon through TicketBastards and the usual other outlets.
I plan on cajoling my jet-lagged Songbird into going to the event, or will go solo if she's still too whacked; anyone local wanna come with? (Even if El Jefe de GAFilk doesn't follow through, I will; we are attending the musical itself come Hell or high water, and anyone who wishes to help make a party of it should get in touch.)
*We already know that the "big-boned," bigger-voiced Sara Ramirez, who played the Lady of the Lake in the NYC production—and won a Tony Award for it—won't show; she's too busy steaming up the small screen as a hot-blooded Latina intern on ABC's Grey's Anatomy.
