Reuters reports here that despite the Bush Regime's poor conduct of the Iraq misadventure, the Republican Congress' poor conduct in general and the ever-advancing obliteration of constitutional freedoms, people in the so-called "Bible Belt" (which, I should note, very much includes my current state of residence, Georgia) still adamantly support Bush and the GOP. One woman quoted says she actually believes that Democrats want US forces to fail in Iraq "so that they can claim that this is Bush's failed policy." Leaving aside the unfair imputation of evil motive, one hardly needs to want what has already happened. The failure of Bush's policy is already blatantly obvious to any but the most diehard GOP Kool-Aid drinkers...of whom this woman apparently is one.

Friends, if you are a US citizen and liberal and/or progressive, please go to the polls in force tomorrow. And bring family and/or friends with you.
