In Memoriam: Kevin McCarthy, 1914-2010

kradical for the heads-up: Veteran science fiction/fantasy character actor Kevin McCarthy has passed away at the impressive age of 96, of what his family describes as "natural causes" in a Massachusetts hospital. More about his life and career can be read here and here.
For me, he made anything he was in that much more worth watching, from the title role in the classic episode of The Twilight Zone "Long Live Walter Jameson" (where I remember first seeing him) to films such as Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the 1956 original) and InnerSpace...picking up Oscar® and Golden Globe nominations along the way.
To his widow and former wife and his five children by them, Your Humble Correspondent offers deepest sympathies in this most difficult hour. Farewell, sir, and thank you. If only you could have really lived as long as Col. Jameson...
