I am so sorry, Deb - I had no idea Dee had passed away. (This is what I get for having such a hideously long friends list on LJ that I miss reading a lot of entries.) What happened? I am obviously farther out of the loop than I realized.

He had leukemia. The remission finally gave out and, as Naomi Moslow put it when her husband died in January, "there were just no more miracles in that particular box." You did know that Mike (who was one of my oldest friends; his widow is the other one) passed away in January, right?

Deb, I didn't know that either. Shows how out of touch with you and the rest of the New York crowd I am, despite LJ, Facebook and all that. Sympathies and hugs on both your losses, however belated.
