It is with great sadness that I must report the death of actor and voice artist Peter Graves. CNN reports here that the former star of the television series Mission: Impossible (first on CBS, later in a 1980s revival on ABC) and the now-classic disaster-film spoof Airplane! passed away Sunday—just four days shy of what would have been his 84th birthday—of what appears to have been a heart attack at his Los Angeles, CA home. He had also narrated a number of documentaries on varying subjects for television and film as well as commercials.
My heart, thoughts and prayers are with his wife and three daughters, as well as his other family members, co-workers, colleagues and fans in this most difficult hour. The man had talent, class and a becoming sense of humor about himself and his work, and will be sadly missed. Good night, Mister Phelps...and good luck, Pete.
