Neither the Songbird nor I shall be attending this weekend's silver-anniversary Ohio Valley Filk Fest, alas. Her business here in Atlanta and my need of $$$ for a newer vehicle to get to and from work both make such a trip a non-starter for us this year.
So who is going, or already there? And who else is making other plans? Post here and bring your favorite filkroom beverage and a song selection. In honor of this year's OVFF Guest of Honor, Duane Elms, I'll start things off with his "Don't Push That Button" and the requisite traditional bottle of filker's mother's milk.

Date: 2009-10-23 12:44 pm (UTC)So we're having a house filk tomorrow in Toronto. I'm making a crisp (it was going to be raspberry but the Northern Spy apples are in so that may change) and am happy to donate a virtual one here, along with a case of Mill Street Organic Lager.

Date: 2009-10-23 12:52 pm (UTC)As far as pity, I refuse to cry because I can't make it. I will be at my sister's place in Flowery Branch Saturday watching "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog" (which I just won on ebay - Joss Whedon autographed it) with my nephews (including the one studying at Le Cordon Bleu here in Tucker). Sunday, several members of the local dim sum group are going to breakfast at a place called "North Chinese Eatery," IIRC, for a different sort of Chinese breakfast. It's not your usual dim sum. Afterwards, I have to record two sets of lines for a new audio drama and send in an audition for a third.

Date: 2009-10-23 04:47 pm (UTC)I got some Captain Morgan Private Stock (it's a fine sipping Rum) and a real jug of Tully in the closet to get out to go along with it. Think I will stay away from the Coors Light this time.

Date: 2009-10-23 11:21 pm (UTC)Not sure what to offer for drinks, since I usually just do water and the occasional soda in the filkroom. I did have a pint of Sierra Nevada with dinner though, so we'll go with that.
Song? Either "Sedona" or "Songs Flying Free", both mine. I'd have sung both of them at OVFF.
