Can't go to this weekend's 19th iteration of the annual floating Northeast Filk Convention, Concertino in Worcester, MA. Friends who are there have already started posting.
Who else can't go? Even if you are there, join in with some party food or drink and a filksong of your choice. I'll start things off with a round of authentic Callahanian God's Blessings (made with Bailey's, of course, and strong Kenyan coffee gifted me by the Songbird) and a rousing rendition of Frank Hayes' "Like A Lamb to the Slaughter."

Date: 2009-06-20 03:40 am (UTC)I offer some Buffalo-style chicken wings and Joe Ellis' "And The Sky Was Full Of Stars". I really like singing that because I can put some emotion in my voice when I sing it.

Date: 2009-06-20 05:57 am (UTC)Wait. God's Blessing is made with the Black Bush, not Bailey's. The whipped cream goes on *top* of an Irish coffee. What you described would be an Irish Latte. :)

Date: 2009-06-20 01:10 pm (UTC)The time is right for a rhubarb crisp. And since Seanan's not at Concertino, I can sing her Maybe It's Crazy (since Phil plays it so often for me, he got to play it for Seanan at the Dead Duck when she got a request).

Date: 2009-06-21 04:50 am (UTC)If all goes well, we're planning a small vacation: a weekend with a bunch of religious folks in an inn in the Berkshires, then a few days with my parents in the Catskills, then Readercon and home.
Turns out it was good we didn't plan to go - my brother, fairly late in the game, ordered our parents to throw his daughter a first-birthday party on Sunday. So we're off to the City tomorrow afternoon.

I'll follow "Lamb to the Slaughter" with Mar Yaakov's "Lambs to the Daughter." One of these days, I'll finish the website with those of Ose Walrus' works I can find online.
Blackberry brandy, anyone? Lisa?

Date: 2009-06-21 09:01 pm (UTC)I closed on a house in Groveland on May 9th, and I'm still unpacking. Someone thank Obama for me; that first-time homeowner stimulus money has been coming in handy for my house-related stuff.
Song? Someone pass me the words to "Books, Books, Books" and join me on the choruses.
