thatcrazycajunMatt Towery is a former state legislator in the state wherein I currently reside, who has since moved to the private sector as a Republican pollster and syndicated columnist. A couple years back, he was just about the only rightie in the state willing to consider cutting Genarlow Wilson some slack...and caught a lot of flak from others in his party for it.
Now he's finding another reason to piss off his fellow conservatives...and I may well have found another of the handful of pundits of his party and worldview for whom I can muster up a grudging measure of respect.
Separate but Equal Proms? Not With My Tax Dollars
Memo to Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and the rest of the national Republican Party leadership: If you cherish even the tiniest hope of your party's having a future beyond next year's midterm elections, you need a lot more people like this guy...and a lot fewer Cheneys and Limbaughs.
