The basic design of the standard prosthetic arm provided by the US military to soldiers, sailors, airmen/women and Marines who lose one or both of theirs in the line of duty hasn't changed much since before World War II. And many complain about the discomfort and soreness that result from wearing it for hours on end. The Defense Department's Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and its head of prosthetics, himself an amputee since his Vietnam War service, are looking to change all that...as CBS News reports in an amazing story on tonight's episode of its venerable newsmagazine show, 60 Minutes.
