thatcrazycajunMy father, who turned 75 this last December and lived through the last Great Depression and World War II, is one of those CNN's Bob Greene is talking about in this commentary:
"We owe the oldest Americans an apology."
Daddy and my stepmother Lucy should not be having to worry at all about their most basic needs by now, and if it wasn't for the pensions they collect and the land they own, they might well be. And many of their peers who are not so lucky are contemplating a situation we, their issue, should never have allowed to happen.
