- I have an extra rib on my left side. Freaks the heck out of new doctors.
- My favorite color is blue.
- When I was three or so, I poured dishwashing liquid into my dad's backyard pool of fishing-bait minnows. He was not happy.
- I have lived in eight different states in my life: LA, TX, OK, VA, MD, NY, PA, GA.
- My current romantic relationship is the longest lasting one I have had (seven years and counting).
- I do not know my IQ or my blood type. No idea about my parents' blood types, either.
- I have been told by a music teacher that I have perfect pitch.
- I am severely nearsighted and astigmatic.
- I was in the Boy Scouts, but never advanced in rank past Tenderfoot.
- I have crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice and the Pacific once.
- I have only been outside the United States four times in my life.
- My shoe size is 10.5.
- My astrological sign is Gemini, but I cannot have a precise horoscope cast because no one can tell me what hour of the day I was born. (My birth certificate does not have this info, and my father no longer remembers. My mother died before I could ask her.)
- My family surname is an archaic French usage meaning "light."
- Due to respiratory allergies, every so often I begin sneezing uncontrollably for about five minutes.
- Three of my favorite toys as a child were See 'N' Say, the Mattel-O-Phone and Spirograph.
- I saw snow for the first time during the year I lived in Oklahoma in the early 1970s.
- My first science-fiction convention was in New Orleans, LA in the second weekend of August, 1978.
- I have one Pegasus Award and three nominations.
- I can iron my own clothes, sew my own buttons and darn my own socks. (Thanks, Mama!)
- I have lived with more cats than dogs.
- I have only been to the West Coast (CA) once.
- The first personal computer I remember seeing was a Radio Shack TRS-80.
- One of my favorite comfort foods is Kraft macaroni and cheese mixed with cooked slices of Vienna sausage.
- I have only ever owned one car, for about seven months in 1988. It died a horrible death when a friend misconnected the cables for a jump start and set fire to the engine block.
