To all my friends at Darkover Grand Council this weekend

I am still sorely tempted to bomb up there to central Maryland and be with you for at least Saturday night...but sadly, the only cars around here belong to the Songbird, who would take a dim view of me driving a minimum of 10 hours northward in one all by myself (and the same distance back on Sunday night). And plane, train and bus fare is financially out of the question. So I am missing what amounts to Northeastern fandom's annual end-of-year family reunion once again this year.

Let me know if you're there and what's going on by posting here, please. I wasted the entire day today indoors, sleeping and finishing the massive tome that is Eric Flint and David "Honorverse" Weber's latest entry in the Ring of Fire/1632 series from Baen Books, 1634: The Baltic War...and it would be nice to know at least one or two of you there missed me. Those of you who aren't there are also welcome to post about what you're doing instead.

Dang, now I feel bad for not going (it's only about 35 miles from here). I need to get over the bad experience I had at Darkover 29 years ago. (Yikes!)

Hey, I almost NEVER make it to Darkover anymore; it was unusual for me to make it to Philcon this year, since I've moved to Florida. You get your contact where you can manage it.
