All right, who broke the Large Hadron Collider?!

This BBC News story reports how one badly soldered connection—just one—has caused the world's largest superconducting supercollider to be so badly damaged, repairs will take until next June (!!). At least this ought to soothe all those who were worrying that the collider would suck the whole Earth into a black hole...but how much do you wanna bet this is coming out of someone's paycheck for the next couple of centuries?
