This YouTube video was pointed out to me today by my old and dear friend
wcg. It's an original song that keys off the campaign slogan of Democratic Presidential candidate (and, current polls show, highly likely winner) Barack Obama, done in Cajun French (with English subtitles onscreen) and zydeco style by a group of musicians from my homeland of Acadiana. Considering that the state of Louisiana's gone for the Republican Presidential choice in four of the last six elections, this is just a tad ironic...but if this can come out of such a deep-red area of the country, it gives me hope. And take it from a fella who grew up listening to this sort of stuff (had no choice; it was all my dad would play on the radio on weekends), this is la vraie chose—the real thing. Merci beaucoup, Sarge!

Oui, on peut.
