Good news: I can has Songbird! Bad news: no can has Contata.

My Songbird is winging her way to Washington, DC as we type for a week of training in Federal law relating to her work in Nairobi for the Global AIDS Project of CDC. I have bought plane tickets and gotten permission from my boss to take Friday off to fly up there and spend this weekend with her. I will arrive Friday afternoon and leave Sunday evening.

The downside is, this totally eats whatever discretionary income I might have had for this month, airfares being what they are now. So since Contata is the very next weekend, any chance I might have had of being able to afford that trip is now erased. But between a filk convention and seeing my sweetie for the first time in six months, it's no contest at all.

All those of you planning to attend, have fun and let the rest of us know what we missed.
