Guess I'll give this "Thankful Thursday" thing a shot, too

Cadged from at least a couple of others on my f-list, the idea of listing things one is thankful for each Thursday has some merit in giving one perspective on life's truly craptastic days. I think I can use some of that just about now. Soooo...

I am thankful this last Thursday in March 2008 for:

• Having a decent job that pays at least adequately, with a small company that does big business and a supervisor and co-workers that genuinely like me, think my designs are good and want to keep me around despite my peculiarities and occasional mistakes.
• Having a girlfriend who lets me use at least one of her vehicles and a few other of her possessions she could not take with her to Africa, and who still wants to be my girlfriend despite our few unresolved issues and my own ongoing struggle to at least vaguely resemble a responsible, functioning adult.
• That the fender-bender I got into on Monday on the way out to lunch did not hurt anyone and caused only minor damage to the other vehicle...and no more than a tiny bit of scraped paint on the one I was driving. (It's still going to cause quite a bit of damage to my bank account, but we won't go into that today.)
  
• That I was able to get the other car's electrical problems fixed again (hopefully for good this time) for no more than a Benjamin and a half (plus cab fare).
• That I am still in reasonably good health, have a roof over my head and food in the house, clothing and medication.
• Blossoms on the trees in the area that have exploded with color the last week or so. White, pink, red, yellow, purple, green...makes it almost worth the coating of pollen that gets dumped on the cars and everything else.
• That in precisely nine months, 26 days, 14 hours and 15 minutes, the single worst President in the 2.25-century history of this country will be legally required to leave office and never return.
• The family and friends I have who care about me and help me when I need it (which is not as seldom as either of us would like).

I'm thankful Rob's plane took off safely.

And I'm glad that I got to the Reagan airport metro stop about 15 minutes before it did, so I could watch that happen.
