Waaah! Wanna be at Arisia!

So Arisia is this weekend...and even if I could afford the plane fare, hotel room cost, membership etc., I definitely do not need to be missing any more work time from my still-brand-new job (and concomitantly losing the pay from the missed time). My Songbird and I used to go just about every year since we've been together, even after moving to Atlanta. And yeah, I know, it's just a week after GAFilk and all the rest of it...and none of it helps. (And watching Boston Legal three nights ago so did not help.)

Anyone else suffering from the frustration of fannish envy and loneliness this weekend?

*chuckle* Blame vixyish, she was the one that sang it at the Sereniversary two years ago... and *everybody* went nuts over it... (besides, she looks a little like Scully, so...)

As a matter of fact, though, I am kinda wistful... cflute is taking time for herself this evening before everything goes nuts for about a solid month (houseguest in pre-Conflikt, Conflikt, houseguests post-Conflikt, guitar festival, trip to New York... ), and various other folk are otherwise occupied, so... but that'll change by this time tomorrow, Lady willing and the creek don't rise...

That is a *great* icon. Does cadhla know about that? That last line just sounds like something she'd say....

Yes, I'm suffering fannish envy and loneliness - I did NOT get to go to GAFilk. In the last year I only got to go to one con. I didn't even get to go to Apollocon again, and it's fairly close. I don't think I'll get to go to any con this year until FenCon, which is the one very local.

I am sad.

Unless I have a training class geographically and temporally convenient to a con, it'll be years before I make it to one.

And Arisia has always been near the top of my list...

(This isn't really a big deal in the grand scheme of things - but I would love to have someplace fun to be right now.)
