As we prepare to begin our long drive south, before I forget, I want to wish a very happy birthday to an old and dear friend, and a talented songsmith and instrumentalist, darrenzieger. Much love to him, his wife Anne and their two sons Benny and Dorian.

It's not that long a drive. It's about 8 hours to NOLA and another 2 from NOLA to Lafayette. OK, so I lied. Make sure to rest frequently and make plenty of bathroom breaks. And have lots of music on board with you.
