My partner,
singing_phoenix, has just posted to her LJ an eloquent and appalling description of what she has observed in Nairobi's slums, where thousands of people suffer daily from privation unimaginable to those of us living comfortably in the US or elsewhere. If you read it and think, "How can this problem be solved? And how can I help?" as I did, let her know your thoughts by posting a reply. She feels she does not do much despite others' saying to her, "I could never do what you do"; but just bringing to people's attention the obscenity that such poverty and need is in this supposedly advanced era seems to me a great service all by itself.
Damn, Songbird, but I'm lucky to be your man. And proud.
