Huffington Post blogger Chris McGowan on the religious right's war on the theory of evolution:
Creationists Are Making Monkeys Out of Americans

And Wired's Clive Thompson on the difference in the way scientists and laypeople use the word "theory" and why the language needs to be changed to win the war for Darwin:
Science Will Triumph Only When "Theory" Becomes "Law"

Stupid frigging Biblical literalists. Can't they see that believing life evolved over millions of years doesn't have to preclude the possibility that a God (or gods) started the whole thing off?

Too easy.
All you have to do is carry around a copy of an index card with "theory" and it's definition.
Or a pocket dictionary.
Then ask them what they thing the word "theory" means.
Then show them the proper answer and ask again.

One major problem is that half of what the IDiots are railing against isn't evolution at all, it's the concept of abiogenesis (the formation of life from nonliving matter) (without The Word being spoken to command it, at least).

Nice post at the HuffPo. Thanks.

And to think that the first teacher who taught me about evolution was a Catholic nun.

Nobody believes me when I say that.
