Testing a new Mac OS X LJ client. Just got told by the company that called me Sunday night after seeing my résumé on Monster and interviewed me on Monday that someone with actual experience in their industry beat me out for a job but that I was their second choice. In the immortal words of that sage Daffy Duck, "Thanks for the sour persimmons, cousin!"

That does suck, although it can be an opportunity to say "Well, thanks for your consideration, and if a similar position opens up in the future, please keep me in mind."

I actually got a job some years back because my resume got passed from the guy I interviewed with (and came in second for the job) to a guy at a similar facility who had an opening, and called the guy I interviewed with to see if he knew anyone who would be interested. I was quite surprised to be called for an interview with a company I'd never even heard of about a job opening I didn't know existed!
