Hee, hee...The Republican congressional scandals are a gift that just keeps on giving (for us lefties, anyhow...) This time, it's U.S. Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio) who's gotten caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar. National Public Radio has the story here.

But even better, NPR has come up with a nifty little interactive twist on the famous Kevin Bacon game involving all the GOP Congresscritters who have been getting themselves in hot water lately: Six Degrees of Jack Abramoff. Try it!

Um, the congressional scandals have been pretty bipartisan. See Mollohan from WV, Bill Jefferson from New Orleans, NJ's Bob Menendez, Trafficant a few years ago, Conyers, not to mention the embarrassments of Cynthia McKinney and her father, and Patrick Kennedy. And Abramoff's money was spread around pretty evenly to anyone who'd take it.

Zev, m'boy, I'm perfectly well aware that no party has a monopoly on ethical lapses. But the GOP, in my opinion, deserve a comeuppance far more than the Dems do for their efforts to (a) make life miserable for me and mine and (b) attack the Dems for all kinds of stupid reasons in fits of hypocrisy, both of which the GOPers spend far more time doing. If you want to snicker at Democratic officials caught in wrongdoing, do it on your own blog. And for the record, far fewer Dems than GOP have been linked to Abramoff. Look it up.
