NEW FILK: Canadian Man
Nov. 5th, 2007 02:11 pmI knew I'd write a Stargate: SG-1/Atlantis filk one day; I just didn't even dream it would be about THIS character! (Inspired by the caption on an LJ userpic I saw the other day.)
CANADIAN MAN
Music: "We're An American Band" by Don Brewer, recorded by Grand Funk Railroad, 1973
Parody Lyrics: Matt G. Leger
Out in this galaxy four years now
This ancient city is still running somehow
They sent us here through the Stargate from Earth
To where the legend of Atlantis had its birth
Well, ev'ry country, they sent their best
But this one guy puts us all to the test
He's a whiz at the sciences, got a big brain
The problem is, he knows it and he's such a pain
He's a Canadian man (2x)
He's an annoying guy
Who knows the root of pi
He's a Canadian man
McKay's his name, comes from Ottawa
Makes Gregory House look just like Captain Nice;
Ol' Major Sheppard wants to punch out his lights,
But that cute Doctor Katie thinks he's outta sight!
No matter what, he's got a plan;
Need some laws of physics bent? He's your man.
He says, "Come on, you twits! Get off your bum!"
As he proceeds to make the Wraith and all of us feel dumb.
He's a Canadian man (2x)
He's an annoying guy
Who'll save your life by-and-by
He's a Canadian man
(Instrumental bridge as Rodney speaks rapidly)
It's really quite simple—all you have to do is step up the reactor power input three more points and reverse the polarity of the neutron flow...and no, I can't explain why, because for you to comprehend the explanation would require you to have at least two of my advanced degrees and two-thirds of my IQ. Any more stupid questions?
He's a Canadian man (2x)
But when it all goes south
He's good for more than mouth
He's a Canadian man
