Um...I have been driving for some years now. Not always in the safest fashion, true, but I have been getting better of late. My beloved says so. Neener. :-)

I have had a driver's license since I was 16, but have only driven regularly twice in my life: now (2002-06) and for about ten months in 1988 in New Orleans, when my then-employer decided to move his shop out to the suburbs. I bought a 1974 Dodge Dart Custom off my then-girlfriend's uncle and drove it until it got killed in an engine fire started by a well-meaning friend of mine who tried to jump-start it and crossed the cables. One of the reasons I had moved to NYC was specifically to avoid driving. Since moving in with my current partner, I have been forced to learn by her needing occasional chauffeuring (usually when she's worked until 10 PM or later and is too scared/night-blind to drive home tired), and forced to get better at it by three or four fender-benders.

Um, while late-night chauffeuring is always appreciated, perhaps the fact that there's no public transport from the apartment to your current job might also be a factor? :)

For the record, although your driving can still be a wee bit scary (my dear Lead-foot Leger), your skills have improved significantly in the last few years.

4. Would you keep a secret from me if you thought it was in my best interest? if it was a birthday party, I'd try (and likely fail). Anything more serious... would depend.

5. What is your favorite memory of us? I have some really great memories of you singing at various filk circles.

Glib answer: You only live once. Might as well get it over with.

Actual answer: Don't let the fact that there is no God, no afterlife, and that life is brief, meaningless, and frequently brutal get you down.

3. Would you have my back in a fight? Yes, but it wouldn't do you much good. I have the strength, agility and cunning of a baby hamster. You'd be better off with Stephen Hawking, who could at least run over your opponent's toes with his wheelchair.
