AKICILJ: Faxing on a broadband computer

Can anyone out there explain to me how one sends a fax from one's computer when it is connected to an "always on" Internet access point, such as phone-line DSL, T1 or ISDN? (If it turns out you do it just the same way as if your computer wasn't hooked up to one of these, I'm gonna feel so dumb...but let me have it.)
