"Can't Go to OVFF" Virtual Pity Party, Day 3 of 4

Once again, we welcome those who aren't at the Ohio Valley Filk Fest this weekend and wish they could be; those who aren't and don't give a good goddamn; those who've never been and would like to; those who are there and want to tell us about it; and even those who've never even heard of the bloody thing and wonder what all the fuss is about. (See Thursday's original entry and replies here and the goodie list from Day 2 here.)

- A chocolate cake baked in her Enchanted Cottage mold (with all four trees!)

- Sweet potato pie
- Acorn squash casserole

- Treacle scones

- Traditional New York cheesecake, with toppings (strawberry etc.)

- Shrimp mousse with crackers
- Additional cheesecake toppings (Blueberry, strawberry, cherry and lemon)

- Low-carb seafood/sausage bisque
- 2 bottles of Tullamore Dew®, the filking nectar of the gods

- Additional pot of veggie chili to accompany the meat-based one she brought Thursday

- A few bottles of her fianceé's home-brewed ale (BlueAngel Blueberry and Belgium Tripel "Triple Nipple")
- 1 bowl hummus, with chips on side

- Kenyan "high-test" coffee (gonna have to be pretty damn potent to beat our Cajun chicory coffee, cher...but we'll see :-))
- A pot of tea Marsala (for her and the rest who don't drink coffee or booze)
- Molasses spice cookies, made from scratch (oh, SB bakes, dinchaknow? And how!)
- White/dark chocolate pinwheels, also MFS (Dark chocolate? She knows me so well...[g])

Don't suppose anyone thought to arrange a live Internet stream from the con, huh? Ah, well...see what you missed (those of you not attending, that is) at the OVFF programming page. And the 2007 Pegasus Awards are to be given out tonight. (Hey, I got one o' those!)

And as grateful as I am for the incredible variety of edibles, WHERE'S THE FREAKIN' MUSIC, PEOPLE?!? This is supposed to be a filkers' party, not a foodies' party! (Not that filkers who also happen to be foodies [or vice versa] aren't welcome, but that's not where the emphasis is supposed to be.) List your top five favorite filk songs, or top five performers, groups or composers. Post a new lyric or poem you've written, or a really nifty one you've gotten from someone else (with their permission, of course). Talk about good filk cons, housefilks or other events you've been to. We need some filk in this here filk party!

Hmmm would my talking about seeing "the Boogie nights" with a former friend (who shall be nameless unless there's a chance of him reading this) at DragonCon 2006..*sigh* good times.

Oh yeah can't forget the show on Saturday night that year either .. with Consortium of Genius with doctorpinkerton!
