So far, the virtual refreshments table contains the following:

From moi:
- 1 bowl of Halloween candy corn
- 1 jug of hot mulled caramel apple cider

From [personal profile] allisona:
- Candy apples

From [profile] voiceofkiki:
- 1 bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey
- Chili (meat or veggie?)

From [profile] trektone:
- Espresso brownies
- Chocolate mousse

From [profile] fringefan:
- 1 shopping-bag-ful of cookies
- cherry cheese Danish and Ultimate Crumb Cakes from Entenmann's
- seasonal orange-and-black-decorated doughnuts and cupcakes
- 1 pot cocoa-and-cinnamon coffee

Also in attendance but not supplying food/drink: [personal profile] mshollie, [personal profile] robin_june, [profile] tigerbright and [personal profile] wolfette. I also note [personal profile] filkertom has a few posters not at the con here; y'all are welcome to drop in at any time. Thanks to all who have contributed and are going to; thou all indeed doth rock and most hard, like unto a member of Aerosmith. And even if you're at the con and somehow finding time to LJ, you're welcome to pop in as well.

And let's not forget the music to go with all the munchies. What would you most like to hear me sing (besides "A Simple Country Doctor," which I already know everyone and his dog likes)? Or what would you like to hear someone else, either posting here or not, perform? Taking requests here.

small correction

All the solids I mentioned are in that shopping-bag-ful from Entenmann's. I'm afraid I don't have the time to bake them myself (nor enough hands to carry the pot of coffee and more than one shopping-bag-ful of other stuff).

Such is the speed of travel on the Infobahn (and how long has it been since you heard that expression?), though, that if we run out, I can scoot back and pick up some more. The Entenmann's thrift shop is open seven days a week.

I'll come, too! Means I wouldn't have to drive almost an hour to Dulles and wait for Karl to clear Customs. I'll bring a chocolate cake baked in my Enchanted Cottage mold; you can have all four trees since you arranged this!

Aww...thank you so much! What are the trees made of, just out of curiosity? And do you have a picture of the mold, or of a cake baked with it, that you might share?

Ah, I knew I wouldn't be stopping in much... but I'll share sweet potato pie and acorn squash casserole. :)

I'll add some treacle scones to the food supply. They're also a traditional Halloween game in Scotland - the treacle flavoured scones are also dipped in treacle (molasses ) and strung up from the door frame. The game is then to eat the dangling scone with your hands tied behind your back. Someone may even set them swinging (a plastic tarp on the floor is a good idea at this point)

Treacle Tarts or....

Round here, they use donuts for that game.
Where I grew up in PA they did that with apples instead of bobbing in water. Don't know the why of it though.

treacle scones aren't treacle tarts.

Treacle scones are made/flavoured with treacle. Treacle tarts - despite the name - aren't. They're made with golden syrup!

We have a LOT of sugar products in Britain.

Only cheesecake can get me through the absence of OVFF, so that's what I'll bring - a nice big cheesecake!

New York-style cheesecake is always welcome. Traditional or flavored?

From: [identity profile] tokyosteven.livejournal.com
I love traditional, but I'll bring some toppings (strawberries and such) for those who wish. :-)

HOW did I miss this invite?? Far be it from me to miss a great party!

I'll bring over some toppings for said cheesecake if they aren't supplied already! Blueberry, strawberry, cherry and a lemon sauce to die for!

Other than that, I'll go for Shrimp Mousse.. secret family recipe made with Knox gelatin, of all things! Crackers to go with it.

Answered that question already. So it's the shrimp thing.

I'll bring a pot of my famous low-carb seafood/sausage bisque, and a couple bottles Tully for the filkers.

Tully? Perhaps I should stay away. After I decided to partake from Bob Aspirin's supply at D*C, I sorta blanked. I don't even remember the last two songs I performed. :/

I totally forgot about all those who refrain from meat. I'll make a second pot of veggie chili. It'll be ready to eat in about an hour.

As for music: Matt, you know the song of yours that I like most. :D

Have fun, everybody.

I have a busy weekend here in the Tampa Bay area, but can stop by for a bit virtually speaking. :)
I'm bringing a few bottles of my fiancee's blueangel blueberry ale, his belgium tripel "Triple nipple" and some hummus (with chips)

I have been away a few days, and my laptop died for a while. Is it too late to add a fresh pie from Cortland apples, and a roasted eggplant dip? It comes with Amsterdam Nut Brown Ale, brewed in Toronto.

Can you sing the one about Disneyland? Or was it DisneyWorld? I have a lousy memory.

You're thinking of "Kingdom in the Sky" by Da Vinci's Notebook, and since the song mentions Orlando, FL, I'm assuming they mean Walt Disney World and not CA's Disneyland.

Anyhow, since I can't sing it for you myself online, I'll let them do it (since they do it way better anyhow):
Kingdom in the Sky on Last.fm (http://www.last.fm/music/Da+Vinci's+Notebook/_/Kingdom+in+the+Sky)
Oh, and here's the lyrics (http://www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=109329) so everyone can sing along!
