Now that I finally have cable again (in my subterranean apartment, no reception is possible otherwise, even with rabbit ears), I can settle in for this week's season premieres of my favorite network TV shows: Heroes, of course, tonight (as if I didn't know half of you reading were also all over that one...). Then tomorrow, Boston Legal returns on ABC (with my old N'Awlins homeboy John Larroquette [Night Court, The John Larroquette Show, McBride] joining the cast!) and Law & Order: SVU on NBC. And Thursday, The CW brings back Smallville for Season Seven, and ABC brings back Grey's Anatomy for Season Four right after. And Friday, Sci Fi takes us back to the Pegasus Galaxy for Stargate: Atlantis. And naturally, I will be taping each and every one for the Songbird to watch when she gets in from Nairobi later this week.

What's on your must-watch list this week?

I'll torrent heroes tomorrow, since I'll be at open mic tonight.

And I want to torrent Sarah Jane Adventures. Other than that, nothin'

My watch list includes Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and the new Ken Burns film, "The War". I'm not into Heroes or much network TV any more; gave up "ER" a long time ago.

The reaction to Ahmadinejad at Columbia, the strike at GM...

Oh. You mean network TV.

Heroes. Taping tonight, will probably grab a torrent Tuesday or Wednesday as well.

Top Chef, of course. And What Not to Wear (unless Friday is too tired). Good Eats and a few other tidbits on Food Network.

If M didn't have trouble with it, 1 vs. 100 is tres cool, too.

That's a pretty poor showing of interesting shows, when there are over 200 accessible channels on my cable box.

Not about TV shows

Kathleen Sloan did your song "Simple Country Doctor" at FenCon this past weekend. I think this is only the second time I've heard someone else sing it (and thus heard YOUR tune for the words). I tend to sing it using a different tune.

Thanks for letting me know. I can't begin to express what a feeling it is to know someone else is singing a song you wrote of their own free will. One of these days I have to get her to sing it for me so I can hear how it sounds in her version.
