Live from Dragon*Con, Day 2
Sep. 2nd, 2006 02:43 pmHaving finally gotten smart and asked a hotel staff member how to access the wireless Internet node (turns out it only works on the above-ground levels, from the lobby up, which doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense marketing-wise, since their business meeting rooms are mostly underground), I can now post live from the Hyatt via TMobile's network about events and my own activities at Dragon*Con 2006, in full swing since yesterday (though it is annoying to have to pay $9.95 a day for the thing within miles of my own DSL-equipped home).
filkertom's concert last night kicked mass quantities of ass, as he notes in his own LJ, and so did the one by the Boogie Knights which immediately followed him (even without Dave "Theodoric of York, Medieval Disc Jockey" Keefer, who was forced to miss the con by his newly-increased family responsibilities). Looking forward to Heather Alexander's set and the Dementia Live 2006 show this evening (in which Tom and
lukeski figure heavily), and Tom's second show tomorrow night. Currently sitting in the Hyatt lobby people-watching and figuring out what else to do today. My cell phone is out of juice and needs charging, so I won't be reachable that way for awhile yet (until I can find someplace to safely sit with it plugged in for an hour or two), but I am checking e-mail and LJ.

shannachie. Be sure to read the comments (yes, I know there are a lot of them). If it makes you envious of her eloquence and soberly self-examining as it did me, then it's worth your time.
