Six years ago this day...

thatcrazycajun...I was living in an apartment in Sunnyside, Queens, when a phone call from my sister-in-law in Louisiana woke me after 9:00 AM (I was still unemployed and sleeping late a lot) to make sure I was all right, telling me to turn on the TV news. I did so just in time to see an unspeakable horror that will live forever in my nightmares: the World Trade Center towers, just across the East River from me, collapsing with God alone knew how many people still inside.
On this sixth anniversary, let us remember all who died—at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and among the heroic resisters of United Airlines Flight 93 in a Pennsylvania pasture. And all those who have died and been injured since to stamp out terrorism and apprehend those responsible, in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere. And pray that our troops in harm's way now may be allowed to come home for good, very soon.

May God our Father and Jesus Christ grant soon that the reign of the madness of men end. In the meantime, extermination of these vermin and those who harbor, support, and cheer them is a very good use of our military, and the task that EVERY SINGLE CURRENT MEMBER of it has VOLUNTEERED to do. Watch these two videos and then tell me I'm mistaken or worse.
THIS is what our Nation is responding to.

He is holed up in what is probably the most unreachable terrain in the world and surrounded by people who will not only die for him, but will kill him to prevent capture if need be. His only real value to us is alive so that we can dissect his brain for the intel it holds. His dead body would be good too, just not all that useful.
2). We have no need to waste resources going after someone who is as much a has-been as the definition of that phrase will support. Musharrif and Kharzi have him bracketed and will give him to us when he is captured or killed. Meanwhile, he's not going anywhere, and not doing anything of note. (Look at how weak and discreditable are even the videos that he does make.) There is no other place on earth where it is that difficult to go in AND where the people support him. He will make a mistake when he becomes complacent, and we will have him.
