Today, White House Press Secretary Anthony "Tony" Snow, currently undergoing treatment for cancer, announced he will retire from public life next month. Unlike the other recent departures of Bush Regime figures, which have the air of the proverbial rats deserting a sinking ship of state, Snow at least has conducted himself with a modicum of probity -- and has a much better excuse than the usual "I want to spend more time with my family" line so often used in D.C. when escaping prosecution, public calumny or the hot breath of scandal.

Though I may loathe his politics (he came to the Bush II White House from the Faux Fox News Channel, you may recall), I wish him every success in fighting off this disease, and a speedy and complete recovery. Anyone have any thoughts as to who will succeed him? Or on who should?

"HULK CANNOT READ TINY PRINT. HULK ANGRY. HULK SMASH!!!"

Hey; we'd finally be getting some honesty.

Cancer nothing but a good excuse?

a). In every administration, this is the time that the teams have historically begun to break up, so that the individuals can set up new career endeavors and so that people can be brought in and trained before the quiet madness of the handover after the upcoming election. (transition team is the term most often used)

b). Another Bushie bails... which have the air of the proverbial rats deserting a sinking ship... has a much better excuse... Though I may loathe his politics...

This is called damning with faint praise. The man has cancer. You can't point to anything you really dislike about the guy except that his politics are not yours.

Keep this up and you're going to have serious problems with high blood pressure. Relax dude. You don't personally know these people and despite the screaming headlines from the media,(and what you think you know because of them) nobody on either side of the aisle is a Satanist. (although I have to admit that 'professional politician' is a very close second) ;-)

Actually, Mr. Snow drifted away partially because of the cancer and partially because he couldn't live on his "low salary" of $160,000/yr. I could live comfortably on what he pays in taxes on $160,000/yr. Then again, being on Disability, I technically do.
