Happy birthday to [profile] egoldberg, a really nice guy, a very smart person and founder of the best filk-music recording label since Off Centaur hit the skids, Prometheus Music. (And I'm really, really sorry about screwing up that whole lyric-sheet thing a few years back; if you still want that done, or anything else I can do to make up for it, let me know.)

That is so sweet of you. You are the first person to send an LJ-happy birthday.

Currently, I am in Vancouver with my awesome mom (who flew out from Bethesda for the birthday - I am showing her around the Northwest by train, ferry and bus.)

P.S. So totally no worries about the lyric-sheet thing; I completely forgot about it (and can't even remember now that I'm trying to...)

Thanks for responding; I'm amazed you don't remember that whole lyric-sheet thing -- I was working on PDF lyrics for ROUNDWORM and I crapped out on doing the revisions Bob Kanefsky had requested. Kanef approached me at OVFF that year thinking I was mad at him or something; I had to explain that I was merely suffering untreated depression and continuing failure in my job search made it worse.

Oh, that! No worries.

Certainly, I have not completed every volunteer project I've started. When I have experienced job and mental health issues (such as in my first quarter of grad school due to the pressure), everything else naturally dropped off my radar screen, too.

I think it's one thing if someone takes on paid work and doesn't deliver as promised (personally that drives me crazy), but I think it's a totally different thing if you volunteer to do a project, and it just isn't practical.

If anything, remind me to take you out to lunch next time we meet as a thank you for the work that you *did* put into it. And all new CDs we've done indeed included album booklets, as I recall you also advocated for at the time.
