Update: The kitties made it!

For those wondering since my post of two days ago announcing that two of my Songbird's three cats, Lilith (calico shorthair) and Rosita (Maine coon), were being sent to Nairobi to live with her: As of this afternoon Atlanta time, I have a text message in hand (didn't know Tracfones had texting, didja?) from my lady informing me that the two kitties arrived safely, if a bit traumatized by the long voyage. She says neither of them will go near her, and Lily keeps looking around for her son Ari. This is, I suppose, to be expected, and hopefully they will get over it quickly, as SB will be spending her day off at home helping them get acclimated to their new house.

Ari (aka "Jabba the Catt"), meanwhile, has been granted extraordinary license to sleep with me in the bedroom for the time being, to help him adjust to life as an only cat (and without Mom close by). So far he seems to be doing okay, aside from an unfortunate tendency to try clawing his way up my chair when I'm seated at the computer desk.

Will provide further updates as I receive them. Kudos and thanks to Animal Land Pet Shippers, Swissport Cargo, the folks at the pet hotel in Amsterdam and all the rest of the people who took such good care of the ladies en route. (See, sweetie? I told you not to worry.)

I'm glad for the update - wow, Lilith is in Africa! I didn't know Rosita - I think I only saw her once. I hope they adjust quickly, and make the house a home :-)

Vir has a tendency to try to jump into my lap when I'm at the computer, apparently to see what's going on. He also tried to get at my coffee this morning, but caffiene is about the last thing he needs -- he's hyper enough already.
