Venting

Stupid bloody Comcast says they still can't get my cable hooked up in the new apartment any sooner than Tuesday the 17th; no cancellations have come in to allow me to be bumped ahead. And it turns out I've already missed two episodes of the new Doctor Who's third season on Sci Fi and will miss another tonight. Grrr. Grump, grump, grump.

Find seeds using isohunt. Use seeds in BitTorrent to download files. Thus did I acquire all of Doctor Who, Series 3. (There are torrents available now for the entire season as a single download, even. I got one as a backup, though it did take three days to finish downloading via cablemodem.)

I thank you for the offer, and I believe I will take you up on it, as all my attempts to use BitTorrent thus far have resulted in failure most ignominious (I know I must be doing something wrong, but I have no clue what).

Check that last statement: All of my attempts at using BT so far were on the Wintel laptop. Today I tried it using HFP's instructions on the Mac using Xtorrent and isohunt, and it worked a treat. (It took a godawful hideously long time--thanks a heap, AT&T/BellSouth, for the poky cheap DSL!--but it did work.) I actually got and watched a half-hour episode of Lilo & Stitch, the Kim Possible crossover in which Stitch is kidnapped by Dr. Drakken. (Yeh, I'm a Kimfan; ya wanna make somethin' of it?)
