Happy birthday to billroper! Multiple Pegasus Award winner; founder, chief audio engineer and guiding spirit of Dodeka Records;  Filk Hall of Fame charter member; chair (more than once) of Windycon; author of "The Destroyer" and co-author of "Cheap Lawyer/Rebuttal"; and, from my own personal experience, all-around generally swell guy. (And not incidentally, husband of daisy_knotwise and father of the cutest little neofilker born the past year.)

I so wanna be you when (if?) I grow up, Bill! Have a terrific birthday...but then, I expect the missus will see to that. (Right, Gretchen? [grin, wink])

Roper's a Republican? I hadn't heard that. If true, I would NOT want to be that part of him...but all the rest, sure. In any case, I do try (even if I don't always succeed) to avoid demonizing anyone simply for their political views. (There are two or three egregious exceptions that come to mind, but these are simply that -- exceptions, not the rule.)
