- Purple things, because it is my beloved Songbird's favorite color (possibly excepting teal, which she also loves. Anything both colors to wear is her favorite clothing).
- Philcon, the nation's oldest SF/fantasy convention. Went for most of a decade and a half religiously. Too damn far away now and too expensive to attend. Gods, I miss it.
- Peach cobbler. Freshly baked and hot out the oven, with a tall, cool glass of two- or one-percent milk riding shotgun. Yum. What good ol' Suthun boy (or gal) don't like that? (Ice cream scoop on top for serving รก la mode optional.)
- The music of Pinkard & Bowden, especially their funny parody songs like "Propane" (TTTO "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton & Cream), which also resonates with this son of the deep South. ("If you wanna get warm / When yer down on the farm / Propane...") Hank Hill would be proud. (Does that count as a two-fer? No? Oh, well, worth a shot...)
- Speaking of music, I loves me some Prince when I's in a get-down-and-be-funky mood. "Gett Off" and "Cream" are among my recent fave songs in his catalog.
- Does Monty Python count? And do I really have to explain why I like their comedy to this crowd? Thought not.
- Picard, Jean-Luc, Captain, USS Enterprise versions D-E. Again, in this crowd, 'nuff said.
- Pink lemonade. Nothing better on a hot, thirsty summer day. Somehow plain old yellow lemonade just doesn't taste the same. (Yeah, I know, it's only food coloring, but still...)
- Prawns fried in coconut batter, or as they're more commonly known here in the States, coconut shrimp. With orange marmalade dipping sauce. Yum.
- My one and only (so far) Pegasus Award for "A Simple Country Doctor." Took three nominations to get there, but worth it all.

Date: 2007-05-03 02:49 pm (UTC)The really sad thing about Philcon is that I lived in its close vicinity for many years and didn't even know about it. The one time I went was just to hear Lois Bujold read from "A Civil Campaign," and I went for that one event and that was it. Ohhhh, if only I'd known!
