It's official: Bush, the GOP and their base voters are ALL insane!

The late Dr. Albert Einstein famously defined insanity as continuing to do the same thing you've been doing and expecting a different result than you've previously had. By that definition, the entire leadership of the Republican Party, up to and including Junior Bush and Darth Cheney, needs to be locked up in the looney bin and fitted for straitjackets, along with substantial numbers of their base voters. Nah; it's everywhere you look. Ted "Bridge Through A Series Of Tubes To Nowhere" Stevens is about as non-Southern as you can get and stay in the US.

Perhaps I generalized.
All I had to go one was South Carolina and Kentucky.
And Stevens?
Hell, he was just looking out for the best financial interests of his constituency.
That's just common sense driven by greed.

Sadly, you are at least somewhat correct in that; although people from my native region do not by any means have a monopoly on this sort of attitude, it does tend to crop up in a larger proportion of the population of this region than in other areas of the nation. People like this make me ashamed and embarrassed to be from the South. (And you wonder why I got the hell out as soon as I could...only to find myself dragged back by my partner's job.)
