Amid all the chaos and uncertainty that is my life at present, one portion of said uncertainty has at last been eliminated: I finally know, as of this morning, where the hell I'm moving to when my lease on the apartment the Songbird and I shared for four years expires this Sunday. They took their sweet time about it, but Hartford Place Apartments finally approved my lease application, and more importantly, found a unit for me that will be available to move in on 1 July (last week, they were making noises about not having one until at least the second week of July). As soon as I can present them with money orders for the apartment and pet deposits and the first month's rent, I will have the keys presented to me.
Anyone within reasonable driving distance of metro Atlanta who feels able to come help me pack out and move this weekend is humbly requested to contact me via phone or e-mail at once. I already have one offer from a local filk friend with a truck, and although I have acquired a couple more large items than I had last month (mainly a table and entertainment center I scored from another Colonial Homes resident who was dumping them), the total load should be easily manageable by 2-4 persons in one day.
Out of concerns over identity theft (which have been magnified in recent weeks, what with the mail stoppage andSongbird's having had checks stolen from her luggage enroute to Kenya ADDENDUM 7-4-07: We finally found the missing checks, in one of the boxes of stuff to be mailed to her, back in our old place; false alarm), I will not post the actual mailing address of my new abode here. Anyone who needs it and doesn't receive it from me directly in e-mail or a phone call within the next week can send e-mail to request it. Also, the Post Awful will get a change-of-request form from me today for forwarding purposes, and instructions will be left with the mail carrier that serves this complex and the management of same to send along anything that doesn't get forwarded.
